I also received my BD/DVD copies of Akito the Exiled and the second half of Sailor Moon S. Akito was a very enjoyable experience. Something in me was telling me that I should not expect much, but thankfully it went above and beyond my expectations. The story is simple but clear. The main five characters are very likable, and I pretty much adore all of them. The production values are magnificent; even those weird CLAMP character designs look nice.
If I have a complaint about Akito the Exiled is that it is puzzling why Funimation decided to have some characters speak English with European accents, but my enjoyment eventually made me forgive them. As far as Sailor Moon S, the episodes were well done and enjoyable. The hand of Kunihiko Ikuhara is very evident, and I am thankful for it. Now the wait for Sailor Moon Sailors Stars begins because I care very little about Super S.
Finally, the Summer season has begun and things started very bleak with mostly mediocre shows. Thankfully things have turned around, and there are a couple of shows that I am excited to watch. I imagine that I will find other 3 or 4 decent shows that should allow me to have a lineup of 7 new shows and the 3 carryovers from last season. Summer might not be a super weak season like I feared. I will try to post my Summer lineup by Thursday.
