The first half of the episode revolved around discussing "the seven deadly sins." The members of the Classics Club concluded that people need to have some of the deadly sins in them to have a balanced personality. The guys also noted that Chitanda rarely gets angry. She jokingly said that she does not let emotions get the better of her because it is a waste of energy (this quickly caught the attention of Houtarou). This episode's mystery was Chitanda's need to find out why her math teacher messed up the day's lesson.
Episode 6 of Hyouka was very revealing. Mayaka and Satoshi apparently have some romance going on, based on a little squabble they had. Houtarou is slowly becoming more interested in Chitanda and her sweet but very demanding personality. Houtarou seemed to conclude at the end of the episode that Chitanda might be kind of prideful; and this is possible what makes her be so bent on deciphering all mysteries she encounters. This episode gets a 9 out of 10 because the producers might have found the right formula by revealing more of the characters' personalities with every new mystery that arises.
