Episode 11
Synopsis
The first half of the episode focused on Yamaguchi.  He seems to be used to always getting his way, but he is struggling on how to react around Shizuku.  The episode also took another look into Haru's past.  We first saw about Haru and Yamaguchi's relationship when they were little.  From another flashback we could pick up that Yuuzan has reasons to hate Haru, but he cannot do it.  The episode ends with a hug between Haru and Shizuku, and another of their weird and melancholic exchanges.

Analysis
Episode 11 of My Little Monster was absolutely great.  It is one of the strongest in my opinion.  It was nice to see a bit more about Yamaguchi's life and personality.  The series continues to do a great job combining weirdness, comedy, drama and melancholy.  On a side note, Chizuru's little sister made a couple of appearances.  I wish we had more of her because she seems like a potential cool character.  This great episode gets a 10 out of 10.

Episode 12
Synopsis
In episode 12 the series shifted its attention to the great Natsume.  As expected she is still struggling with her feelings for Mitsuyoshi.  Natsume has in general a problem interacting with other males (especially school mates) around her.  Natsume is also a very lonely and under confident girl, who pretends to have things under control.  Later, everyone goes to a shrine for New Year's Eve.  Afterwards, on the roof of Haru's home, Natsume appears to confess to Mitsuyoshi.

Analysis
I was hoping for this episode to settle the Natsume-Mitsuyoshi once and for all, but it did not.  Episode 12 of My Little Monster was not that great and felt uneventful.  Hoping for a strong finale, I give this episode a 8 out of 10.

Episode 13
Synopsis
The episode began with Haru looking desperately for something.  He ran into Shizuku, Natsume, Sasayan and Yamaguchi.  He accidentally dropped something with each of them.  This caused them, and almost all the rest of the characters, to meet at the batting center.  At the end of the episode Shizuku ran into Haru on the stairs by her place.  Both saw together what appeared to be a winter firefly, which was what Haru was so desperately looking for.

Analysis
The final episode of My Little Monster did not feel much like a conclusion.  Nothing was solved!.  There is not much to analyze.  The most interesting part of the episode for me was Chizuru's little sister running into a wondering Nagoya (Haru's rooster).  The series seems to be the first season of a continuing franchise, but to me a second season is doubtful.  This episode gets a 7 out of 10.

In general My Little Monster was a fun and entertaining series.  All the main characters are interesting and easy to root for.  I want to give a big commendation to the artists and animators of this series.  Although, the character and background designs were simplistic, they were very well done.  The facial expressions on the characters were very effective in conveying emotions.  The story and character are quite intriguing, and I hope we get more anime.

Synopsis
Natsume decided to have a Christmas party at Haru's (and Mitsuyoshi's) home.  Everyone showed up, including Yamaguchi and his hang.  There could have been potential for romantic problems.  For the most part these were dealt in a funny and entertaining way.  Except when Yamaguchi kept pressing  Haru's buttons with Shizuku.  Haru seemed  ready to seriously hurt Yamaguchi.  At the end of the episode Shizuku confessed to Haru that she is in love with him.

Analysis
Episode 10 of My Little Monster was another strong one.  Apart from Shizuku's love confession, three  interesting things occurred.  First, Sasayan has realized and more or less accepted that he has lost Natsume's  love to Mitsuyoshi.  Second, Natsume confronted Yamaguchi and asked him to stay away from Shizuku and Haru.  Third, Yamaguchi's friends remembered an incident in grade school when Haru pushed someone (from a high place?).  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.

[I apologize for the delay.]

Synopsis
Upon waking up, Shizuku was greeted by a breaking and entering Haru, and the bad news that Shizuku's dad's store had gone under (for the sixth time!).  Shizuku immediately got to work on it and could not spend much time with her friends, who were doing a study group.  Shizuku also remembered when her mom decided to work, apparently, as a result of her dad's ineptitude.

While at a restaurant, Natsume and Sasayan ran into a pair of gossiping girls, who talked bad things about Asako.  When Mitsuyoshi suddenly showed up, Natsume could not hide her happiness for him being there.  Yamaguchi ran into Shizuku at the library and chatted about Haru.  In the next to last scene, Haru asked Yamaguchi if he was in love with Shizuku.  Yamaguchi replied if there was a problem with it.

Analysis
Episode 9 of My Little Monster was full of revelations and surprises.  To start, the fact that Shizuku's mom is a working woman reveals why the daughter wants to follow an independent path.  Natsume keeps being cute, and her behavior indicates that she might be in love with Mitsuyoshi; poor Sasayan.  Finally, Yamaguchi seems to be falling for Shizuku, and a confrontation (possibly very ugly) between him and Haru.  This episode also seems to set the table for the conclusion of the series.  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.

Synopsis
The school held a cultural festival, and Haru's class hosted a horror house.  The episode was quite eventful.  Yamaguchi ran into Shizuku, and she decided to invited to hang out.  As a result, Haru felt jealous and while trying to hit Yamaguchi, accidentally punched Shizuku.  Yuuzan also showed up, and Haru almost recreated an incident from elementary school (beating a girl?; Chizuru in this case).  At the end of the episode Shizuku was a bit more sincere with Haru and asked him for time to think about their relationship.

Analysis
Episode 8 of My Little Monster was quite interesting and revealing.  First, Yamaguchi continues to give hints that he seriously likes Shizuku.  Haru's almost recreation of the incident from the past hints at the possibility that Haru might have serious psychological issues.  I am also glad that Sasayan and Natsume received more screen time; she continues to be cute and adorable (although, Mitsuyoshi consoling her was kind of creepy).  Overall, this very good episode gets a 10 out of 10.

Synopsis
Haru tried to respect the wishes of Shizuku (give her personal space) as best as he could.  But he had a hard time doing it.  Chizuru continues to struggle with her feelings toward Haru, but, yet, continues to give him advice about Shizuku.  Yamaguchi made a reappearance at a cram school, where Shizuku goes to.  Oddly enough, Yamaguchi might not be that different from Shizuku.  The episode ends with Haru reaffirming his love for Shizuku, but she keeps refusing to officially fall for him.

Analysis
Episode 7 of My Little Monster was quite enjoyable.  The usual antics between Haru and Shizuku continue to be entertaining, and somehow, they have gotten more used to each other.  Things seem to have become more "electric" every time Haru and Shizuku are together on screen.  Also, Chizuru is becoming a more likable character to me.  On a dull note, Natsume and Sasayan are losing more and more screen time.  They seem to have a lot of potential as characters.  Regardless, this episode gets a 9 out of 10.

Synopsis
Shizuku is clearly affected by Haru's presence, but she is doubting if it is what people call love.  To further complicate matters, Chizuru has developed romantic feelings toward Haru.  In a strange fashion Chizuru has entered Haru's circle of friends.  The highlight of this episode to me was when Chizuru questioned Haru's manliness because his nonchalant attitude seems like apathy towards Shizuku.  There was some interesting character development on Shizuku's past, and the fact that her mother left her family.

Analysis
A lot of things happened in episode 6 of My Little Monster.  Chizuru has developed romantic feelings toward Haru in a very short time.  Shizuku has gone from being jealous and hopelessly in love to deciding that her studies and future are more important than love.  The detail of Natsume being upset because Shizuku does not confide things with her was intriguing.  I would like to give a 9 to this episode (it gets a 8 out of 10) but the creators are doing a bad job not developing more on all the information being dumped.

At the midpoint (assuming it is 12 episodes long) My Little Monster is a good series, but it is dangerously in risk of becoming mediocre.  The premise is still interesting, but the creators need to step it up and focus on fewer story lines.  The show has become kind of convoluted in the last few episodes.

Synopsis
It was another typical day at school until Youzan (Haru's older brother) showed up.  Youzan talked  to Shizuku and explained that Haru has been a troublemaker and that their strict father wants him to return home.  But since Haru has returned to school, because of Shizuku, Youzan was going to convince their father to let the younger sibling keep living with his cousin Mitsuyoshi.  Haru and Shizuku seem to have grown closer, but Chizuru's gratitude towards Haru appears menacing for Shizuku.

Analysis
In episode 5 of My Little Monster we learned a bit more about Haru's troubled past.  I was glad to see Haru and Shizuku grow closer, but Chizuru's presence seems a bit tacked on to produce more drama.  Also, I like Shizuku and Haru a lot, but I want to see more of Natsume, Sasayan and even Yamaguchi.  My Little Monster has been enjoyable so far, but I hope the producers do not add too many elements (e.g. Chizuru) to the table and ruin the show.  This episode gets a 8 out of 10.

Synopsis
Following Shizuku's recommendation to smile more, Haru did just that and became very popular with the girls.  However, Haru's old demons of violence returned when he fought an upperclassman, who was harassing a timid girl named Chizuru Oushima.  The latter part of the episode was spent with Shizuku, Haru, Natsume, Sasayan and Haru's uncle fishing and sun bathing in the mountains.  Haru's friends also finally met his older brother.  The episode ended with Shizuku asking Haru on a date.

Analysis
Episode 4 of My Little Monster was another enjoyable one.  It was kind of amusing to see Shizuku jealous after Haru became popular with the girls.  Another main character, Chizuru Oushima, was introduced.  It is too early to tell, but I think that Chizuru will be trouble for Haru.  I also wish for Shizuku and Haru's relationship to develop more, but they seem to be going in the right direction.  By the way, Natsume looks hot in a bikini.  This episode gets a 10 out of 10.

Synopsis
After backing out on her love confession to Haru, Shizuku became worried because he seemed to be relieved.  Haru, Shizuku, Natsume and Sasayan (Sasahara) decided to build a chicken coop for the roster.  After finishing the coop (along with the help of Yamaguchi's gang), Shizuku and Haru talked things out.  Shizuku decided to start over and go slow.  Immediately after, Haru had to stay at Shizuku's home.  Apparently Haru did not want to go to his home because he did not want to see Youzan, his twin brother?

Analysis
Episode 3 of My Little Monster was another roller coaster of emotions.  I am beginning to feel uneasy about  Haru and Shizuku as a couple.  Haru seems like a giant headache.  Adding to Yamaguchi's unsettling presence is the mysterious Youzan.  Despite this, I thank the creators of My Little Monster anime for offering a series that is engaging.  The comedy angle is this episode seemed kind of tacked on.  I am still seeing this anime as my favorite of the season.  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.

Synopsis
This episode picked up right where episode 1 left, with Shizuku being flustered about the kiss from Haru.  Shizuku has always been focused on studying and her future, and has never been interested in being close to other people.  But Haru has appeared to challenge Shizuku's values.  Asako Natsume was introduced as a new character, who is bad at her studies, is pretty and seems like a typical teenage girl, but has no friends.  Despite her initial negativity, Shizuku helped Asako to pass a make up exam.

Analysis
Episode 2 of My Little Monster was heavier on comedy but managed to do some nice character development.  Shizuku and Haru continue to learn new things and cope with different emotions.  The appearance of Asako and Souhei Sasahara (a member of the men's baseball team) indicate that the cast is going to expand.  I continue to love the animation that is simple but detailed and full of color.  Hoping that My Little Monster continues to be strong, I give episode 2 a 9 out of 10.
