Synopsis
Ryousuke continued to wonder in the fairy world.  While hiking Rokka again remembered the last days of Atsushi.  Meanwhile, Atsushi arrived at a three in the mountains and began digging.  Rokka saw this, and after further remembrance, appeared to have concluded that somehow Atsushi was inside Ryousuke's body.  The episode ended with an outburst of tears and emotions from Rokka.

Analysis
In episode 9 of Natsuyuki Rendezvous the story continues to feel stuck in a slump.  Learning more about Rokka's and Atsushi's past is always emotional and noslagic, but this anime needs to reach a conclusion eventually.  I cannot really analyse more because not much happened.  This episode gets a 8 out of 10.

Synopsis
Chitanda and Houtarou were alone in the club room after school.  Chitanda complemented Houtarou for his ability to solve mysteries.  He was very modest and said that it had more to do with luck.  In order to get Chitanda off his back, Houtarou decided to use another mystery to prove to her that he had been very lucky up to that point.  Houtarou used a strange message issued by a teacher directed at unnamed student(s).  In the end Houtarou jokingly theorized that the new mystery was related to money counterfeiting.

Analysis
Episode 19 of Hyouka was very amusing.  Chitanda's level of admiration toward Houtarou is so high that she was willing to believe any nonsense that he spouted out.  The funniest thing is that the crazy theories Houtarou made up were actually true, despite his best efforts to fail at mystery solving.  Another great thing from this episode is that it became clearer that Chitanda is romantically attracted to Houtarou.  I really enjoy it when the two get embarrassed when being face to face.  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.

Synopsis
With Yui secluded at home and Inaba distant, the rest of the members of the Cultural Research Club met to discuss how to help Kiriyama.  Things ended badly with Taichi and Aoki having a heated discussion, and the former hitting a moderating Iori.  To further complicate matters, Fujishima put Taichi, Iori and Inaba in the same group for a field trip.  At the end of the episode Taichi seemed to have gained some confidence and valor after a brief talk with the upbeat Fujishima.

Analysis
Episode 8 of Kokoro Connect was very tense.  It is sad and frustrating to see the protagonists so indifferent to each other.  However, I think that it is probably the right decision for the protagonists to be apart for a while.  I cannot wait to see how the rest of the current story arc unfolds.  This episode gets a 10 out of 10.

Synopsis
Rokka continued to wonder who had remade the same bouquets Atsushi once had made for her.  Atsushi (still inside Ryousuke's body) took off to a hiking place.  Ryousuke's soul/spirit continued to wonder what to do.  To further complicate matters, the Rokka with Ryousuke's soul/spirit warned him to be careful if he wanted to return to his physical body.  At the end the episode Rokka seemed to have gone hiking too.  Finally, the real Ryousuke seemed to be read to take action and get his body back.

Analysis
Episode 8 of Natsuyuki Rendezvous continues to be stuck in a slump.  Rokka is understandably confused, and Atsushi is doing some jerky things.  The only bright things were that we saw more Atsushi and Rokka back story, and Ryousuke appears to be in his way to recuperate his body.  The next episode will be crucial in determining if Natsuyuki Rendezvous can go from a very good series to a potentially great show.  This slumping episode gets a 8 out of 10.

Synopsis
The members of the Classics Club were in the club room.  After a helicopter flew over the school, Houtarou suddenly remembered a middle school teacher, Ogi Masahiyo, and his love of helicopters.  Satoshi and Mayaka had vague memories of Masahiyo, and the former remembered the teacher saying he had been struck by thunder three times.  Houtarou became curious and went with Chitanda to the public library to investigate.  They discovered that Masahiyo had been a mountain climber and one time at school was glad to see a police helicopter fly over the middle school because two climbers had been stranded in the mountains at the time.

Analysis
Episode 18 of Hyouka had a self contained story.  I wanted to see an episode leading to a conclusion but its episodic nature is good.  It was funny when Satoshi and Mayaka made fun of Houtarou for wanting to do something.  My hope for a romance between Houtarou and Chitanda seems to be going in the right direction.  But Houtarou does not seem to notice the subtle hints of romantic feelings coming from Chitanda.  This episode gets a 8 out of 10.

Synopsis
The members of the Cultural Research Club continued to cope with their new circumstances.  Yui has been hit the hardest because she is unable to get out of her room.  When her club mates went to visit her home, Inaba confronted her (possibly during an unleash of desires episode).  Inaba wisely told Yui to not hide because Heartseed was going to always find a way to make things more entertaining and possibly dangerous.  The next day Taichi and Inaba had a heated exchange because the latter refused to visit Yui.

Analysis
As expected, the drama continued.  It is interesting that the new conditions have apparently caused the protagonists to be showing and saying what they really think about each other, rather than putting themselves in physical danger.  I kind of like this direction.  I hope the protagonists continue to reveal their emotions to each other but stay friends after this phase ends.  Episode 7 of Kokoro Connect was solid, but not much happened.  This episode gets a 8 out of 10.

Synopsis
After Rokka confessed to the possessed Ryousuke that she is also in love with him, Atsushi asked Rokka to spend the day with him.  After having sex, Atsushi mysteriously left Rokka at the shop.  Meanwhile, Ryousuke soul/spirit continued to wonder around (this time in a red sea with a siren Rokka), trying to figure things out.  At the end of the episode, Rokka opened the shop and was overwhelmed with emotions, seeing a vision of Atsushi and several floral ornaments.

Analysis
Episode 7 of Natsuyuki Rendezvous was kind of slow and stale.  Rokka, however, seems ready to finally move on.  I highly questioned Atsushi's decision to not return Ryousuke's body immediately after Rokka's confession.  The good news is that Atsushi seem to have made up his mind to leave Rokka for good.  I am ready to see the real Ryousuke back in action.  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.

Summary
The mystery of Juumonji (the theft at the festival) was finally solved by Houtarou.  The culprit was Jirou Tanabe, president of the student general council.  He is jealous of Muneyoshi Kugayama, the Student Council President and one of the creators of "A Corpse by Evening".  Tanabe was fustrated that Kugayama was more talented than him at making manga, even though, Kugayama worked on "A Corpse by Evening" as a hobby but did an outstanding job.  Juumonji was started to send a message to Kugayama

This incident also involved Mayaka.  The club mate that had bothered Mayaka, Ayako Kouchi, was bothered because the more talented but less committed, Haruna Anjou, worked on the famed "A Corpse by Evening" manga.  Kouchi begrudged Anjou for her innate talent.  Coincidentally, Satoshi feels similar toward Houtarou because the latter is very talented despite his apathetic attitude.  At the end of the episode, the members of the Classics Club seemed at peace.

Synopsis
Episode 17 of Hyouka was satisfactory but bitter.  It is great that the Juumonji mystery was finally solved.  The creators did a great job connecting several characters to the mystery.  My dear Mayaka continued to be frustrated but appears to finally have made a move on Satoshi.  I was kind of surprised that Houtarou blackmailed Tanabe into selling Hyouka anthologies online in exchange of not divulging the information on Juumonji.  I wonder if he did it exclusively to make Chitanda happy.  With four episodes to go, I hope the rest of the series is spent in a proper conclusion.  This episode gets a 10 out of 10.

Synopsis
Just when Inaba, Taichi, Iori, Yui and Aoki thought that things have reverted back to normal, a new development began.  Inaba tried to seduce Taichi in the clubroom, and Yui and Aoki were arrested for fighting in the street.  This is a new scheme from Heartseed, who decided to make the protagonists unleash their hidden desires.  Inaba showed confidence to the others but is actually terrified.  On the other hand, Iori sees this new development as an opportunity to find/discover her true self.

Analysis
Episode 6 of Kokoro Connect was very intriguing and exciting.  The new scheme from Heartseed is bound to be interesting but potentially devastating for the main characters.  Inaba continues to become the most appealing character as the series progresses.  This episode was strong, but I can only give it a 9 out of 10 because I feel that the new direction of the series has not been clearly defined.

Synopsis
Rokka and Atsushi (still inside Ryousuke's body) had an awkward moment after she asked him to watch his back.  Despite not being comfortable with Rokka falling in love with another man, Atsushi pointed out to her that she never had refused him (the real Ryousuke), and criticized her for putting her dead husband as an excuse.  Meanwhile, Ryousuke's soul/spirit continued to be in fairy land.  At the end of the episode Rokka confessed to Ryousuke (still possessed by Atsushi) that she also loves him.

Analysis
In episode 6 of Natsuyuki Rendezvous the anticipated breakthrough seems to have finally arrived: Rokka's decision to move on and return Ryousuke's affection.  This was another emotionally charged episode.  Atsushi gained more points in my book because of his attitude to motivate Rokka to move on and fall in love again.  Also, this episode reminded us of how beautiful (especially when showing flowers) the animation can be.  This episode gets a 9 out of 10.
